TO FANS OF LITTLE ANGELS: Please don't be mad, I have a case of writers block. As soon as I get over it, I will write and post chapter 4.

DISCLAIMER: None, nada, zip, AKA still not mine.

He knows where she is right now. Okay, maybe not exactly where she is, but Bobby has that gut feeling that Alex had gone somewhere personal and private; more specifically, Joe's grave. Bobby knows the Quinn case was especially hard on her, he saw the tears she was holding back as they arrested Manny. After all, Joe was her husband.

He just can't bear the thought of her being alone at a time like this.

That's why he's wandering around a graveyard at 7:30 in the evening. Bobby is beginning to give up when he suddenly notices Alex, silently standing over a headstone. Bobby takes her in, noting how she looks beautiful, almost angelic, in the waning light. Then, not wanting to disturb her, he slowly walks over. He's almost there when he steps on a fallen branch, breaking the silence. He sheepishly looks down, then back up at his now disturbed partner.

Alex had been standing over the simple tombstone engraved with "Joseph Matthew Dutton. 1/2/1965-6/18/1998. Beloved Son, Brother, Friend, Husband, and Uncle" for about an hour and a half now, remembering those five years of so-called 'marital bliss' she and Joe had shared. That is, until her silence was shattered by the sound of a breaking tree branch, more specifically someone stepping on a fallen tree branch. She whipped her head around to catch whoever broke the comforting silence around her, and finds the sheepish face of her partner, embarrassed at being caught. What the hell does he think he's doing her? Sorry, Bobby, but I don't need your sympathy right now. Alex angrily wills him to go away, but apparently her telepathy skills are rusty, and Bobby just comes closer.

Bobby can tell that Alex wants to be left alone right now; he can see the unshed tears threatening to spill forth any second now. However, she was his partner, and he sensed that she needed someone to hold her, comfort her, tell her everything is going to be ok. He walks until he's standing right behind her, and Alex angrily looks at him again, mentally begging him to go away, to leave her alone. However, Bobby just doesn't seem to listen. Instead, he does something that completely surprises her: he puts his arms around her and pulls her into a bear hug. Alex unwillingly lets the tears spill forth.

Bobby does nothing to comfort Alex as he holds her, he doesn't murmur any words, or rubs her back; he just stands there with his arms around her and lets her cry. And Alex is grateful for that.

After all, his presence alone is comforting enough.

She keeps on crying, even after Bobby thinks she's going to stop. He thinks about inviting her for coffee after she decides to leave, but then he realizes something that gives him pause to that particular idea.

She's letting go. She's finally, truly letting go of the Alexandra Gretchen Eames from all those years ago. The naïve cop that thought love was forever and death was a long time away. The loving wife who would give up everything for her husband, even after he gave her the tranquilizer gun for their anniversary. The sister that didn't know what sort of sacrifice she would make, years later, that would leave her feeling empty and her sister and brother-in law happy. And the partner that didn't realize that she would eventually have to deal with him, the eccentric cop who scared away most of his other partners until her. And he's proud of her for that.

She's finally letting go.
