Hey guys!
I'm really starting to warm up to Gail's character after this episode. Towards the end, not so much, but during the retraining exercises she was great!
She's really quite an enigma - we don't know that much about her, but I thought I'd give writing her a shot.
Hope you enjoy, please review!
Gail Peck knew she was one heck of a complicated person.
She had been called many, many names over the years - some good, most bad. She got 'crazy bitch' a lot. 'Ice Queen' was another common one. She took them all in stride, even finding some of them amusing.
She recognized the fact that something was a bit off about her. Well, not off, really, just unusual. She knew that if she had lived back in the ancient Roman times, she would have been sitting front row at the gladiator games. Her own mother had said that she had a 'lust for blood'. She had meant it negatively, but Gail chose to see it as a positive quality, though she wasn't exactly sure why.
When Staff Sergeant Best had chosen her to help him with the officer retraining, she had been ecstatic. It had paid off to be a 'brown nose' - that was another name she had been called frequently. She didn't see any of the other rookies being chosen, did she?
Picking and choosing which officer to pair with which detective had been one of the highlights of the day. The fights were fantastic to watch - those took top prize, but getting to choose who fought was like the icing on the cake. She had always had respect for Noelle Williams, for being a successful female cop in a job largely dominated by men, so Gail had decided to challenge her by pitting her against the tall senior detective who looked like he lived at the gym, knowing full well that Noelle would have her hands full with him. And the fight didn't disappoint - not by a long shot.
But perhaps the best fight of them all had been between Officer Swarek and Detective Callaghan. She was no fool; Andy and Swarek had something going on between them - it didn't take a psychoanalyst to figure that out - and she thought it would absolutely hysterical to pit Andy's training officer against Andy's boyfriend, for no other reason than for her enjoyment at the inside joke she was privy to.
She wasn't sure if Callaghan was aware of Swarek's involvement with Andy, but just to be on the safe side, she had yelled "girl fight!" just to egg them on. She had always been the center of drama at high school, and she sure wasn't going to give up the pleasure of stirring up chaos just because she was a cop now. After all, even cops need to have fun.
Granted, she had become worried when Swarek wouldn't stop hitting Callaghan towards the very end of the fight. No one liked to see a complete one-sided advantage. And Swarek clearly had the advantage.
But the rest of the fight had been brilliant. Swarek had completely gone off his rocker regarding Callaghan, and she was just glad she had been the one to open up that floodgate of emotion, even if it could have ended dangerously.
Actually, all the fighting was really turning her on, in a weird way. She was going to have to find Chris - soon - for a quick tryst in their interrogation room.
She couldn't wait until it was her turn to compete in retraining.
