Disclaimer: Nope, Rookie Blue does not belong to me.

Rated K, which is a first, because I'm trying to be less paranoid and I don't think it warrants a higher rating.

A/N: Watched the promo for tonight's episode, (#8, 'Honor Role') and I couldn't resist writing this!

Just a little mini-scene between Andy and Chris.

Hope you enjoy!

It makes Chris sick to think about what this could mean.

They're cops; they're supposed to catch the bag guys … not be them.

He looks to his left, and sees Andy's dark, sullen face. She's clearly upset, and perhaps a tad conflicted. "What do you think we should do?" he asks her quietly, his gut churning uncomfortably.

She looks at him, confused by his words. "What can we do?" she asks him, angrily. He's not sure if it's hypothetical or not, so he doesn't answer; just waits for her to continue. "We're the good guys, Chris. We have to report this."

He remains silent again, his conscience at war with his brain.

"Unless you don't want to risk it," she adds, quietly, looking away from him as they continue to slowly walk through the station. "Someone already told us that it could be risky for us, on the whole, to 'break the brotherhood', or whatever. I could do it on my own, if you don't want to."

He frowns at that, shaking his head lightly; (but she still isn't looking in his direction, and she doesn't see it). "No," he tells her, a little forcefully, shaking his head again. "No. We're the good guys," he mimics her earlier words, "we have to do what's right."

He knows that he couldn't live with the guilt if he didn't.

She catches his gaze, giving him a small smile. He knows she feels the same way. "I was serious; some of the others aren't going to like this. It could turn out to be disastrous, and there's no reason we both have to commit suicide here."

He nods, sending her a small smile back. "Yeah, I know. But I meant what I said too. I don't want to be a cop who overlooks something because another cop is involved. I want to be a cop who isn't afraid to go to the lengths it takes to do the right thing."

She nods back at him, turning her gaze forward as they reach the door to Boyko's office. "This is it, then," she tells him needlessly.

He takes a deep breath, pulls open the door, and says, "Yeah, I guess it is."

He doesn't know what consequences there will be.

But he knows that they're doing the right thing, regardless.
