Chapter 1
Kagome awoke to the light filtering in from her window in soft, gentle rays.
'You'd think' she thought to herself 'that after spending so much time with InuYasha that he would be the one in my dreams'. But to no avail, it was still the hanyou's half-brother Sesshumaru that was gracing her dreams with his handsome face. Kagome got up a little tiredly and mused over the cold, yet gorgeous eyes of Sesshumaru that still haunted her mind.
"He looks amazing I'll say that, but he's so cold and unfeeling, how could I even imagine being with someone like that".
Kagome was back in her time, she'd left InuYahsha and the gang back in the feudal era of Japan, and she just needed a break. With Kikyo back in the picture, InuYahsha had paid attention to her less and less… Well he had paid attention but only at her slow walking and constant exhaustion. "I thought he'd gotten over that" she mumbled to herself in the shower "at least a little bit".
She pondered over Kikyo and InuYasha's new relationship, well, old 'rekindled' relationship. The priestess had captured InuYasha's heart before and she had done it again, but so had Kagome. "Well I am her reincarnation." Kagome said aloud as she stepped out of the shower to dry herself off.
She walked out of the bathroom and looked at her bag, it was packed and ready to go, she was going back. Even though Kikyo and InuYasha were together, that wouldn't stop her from collecting the Shikon shards.
She dressed, grabbed her pack and went next door to say goodbye to her brother, Souta.
"Hey you, what's up?" she said as she knocked his door. He gave a grunt and she smiled as she watched him lie on the floor and play his video games. "Well I'm heading out now" she tried. "WAIT!" she heard as she turned around with a smile. "Oh now you acknowledge me huh?" "Well if you're leaving I want to say bye". Even though he didn't seem to notice Kagome, her brother adored her. With one last hug and a mumbled "I'll miss you" he laid back done on the floor and continued to blast away aliens.
Kagome smiled and rolled her eyes "boys" she said with a chuckle.
She slid down the railing of the stairs until she landed at the bottom in front of her mother. "Kagome…" her mom warned her, "you're going to hurt yourself one day" she finished. She smiled to at her mom. "Not on these stairs" Kagome chirped, "I've has lots of practice". Her mother shook her head and gave her a hug and kiss goodbye. "Tell gramps I said bye kay?" "Of course Kagome, I will". Kagome flashed a loving smile and waved goodbye as she walked out the door.
She continued walking until she reached the old well. "Here goes nothing" she assured herself. She leaped into the well and was engulfed in beautiful swirls of blue and purple light. She closed her eyes and embraced the feel of calm around her. 'Here I come guys'.
