Diabel frowned as he scowled at the blue-haired man in front of him. The [Rune Knight] had been expecting a hard fight for the [50th level floor boss], but this – This was a disaster!

Diabel had been farming mobs at night for an upgrade when he had come across the Boss room. Usually he would have been in a party, but Kibaou and Hexadecimal had been fighting again, and he didn't want to deal with them at this moment. He sent them off to protect some [Gatherers] and then resigned himself to a few hours of farming. The [50th Level] seemed to have a strong Irish theme, so he had mostly been fighting club wielding trolls and the occasional Dullahan when suddenly, he had found himself in front of a massive set of [Stone Doors] that clearly indicated the presence of a [Floor Boss].

Internally, he had debated with himself over whether or not to scout it out himself. A [Raid Leader] should follow the rules of the clearers and make a scouting party instead, but in the end the curiosity had been too much. After all, he had reasoned with himself, he could simply back out of the [Boss Room] if he needed to.

Diabel cursed his earlier stupidity as he blocked another swipe from the red spear with his shield, and jabbed forward with his sword. Using a [Skill] right now would be suicide. Alone, and without anyone to switch with while his skill cooled down, the incredibly fast Lancer would kill him in an instant. He blocked another attack (This time a jab), and went for a overhead blow, which the Lancer dodged, as he had been doing for the entire time Diabel had been attacking him.

He couldn't even land a single hit on him!

The Lancer laughed (That was new, some kind of new game engine update?) and began an exceedingly quick triple-jab combo that Diabel could barely block before backing off.

Diabel took the time to glance at the stone doors behind him. He decided the next time the [Floor Boss] gave him an opening he would use runecraft to make a distraction and then make a run for the doors.

"That's Tyr right?"

Diabel look up in surprise! This was the first time that he had ever heard a [Floor Boss] talk. In fact, he had never even heard a Mob say anything remotely resembling speech (groans from the zombies on floor five didn't count).

The [Floor Boss] was running a half circle around Diabel, his spinning weapon a disc of crimson at his side. His face, clearly of Irish descent, was grinning. That was a first too, most of the time the bosses were monsters that didn't have faces. This one was distinctly human. The [Floor Boss] stopped moving. Diabel raised his blue shield up cautiously.

"I was wondering why a simple shield could block my [Gae Bolg] for so long without shattering. But if you're using Tyr to increase the durability of your shield than it makes sense."

Diabel wondered if all the future bosses would be so talkative.

The [Floor Boss] smile even brighter, if it was possible. "But you know... I wonder if you can block this!"

A special attack?! Diabel thought with panic.

"Gae Bolg!"
