When Danny was a kid, he was really small. He'd only grown in high school, and really gained his muscle mass when he started playing baseball all the time.
It was Louie that protected him before that. Louie who ran after creeps that called him names, Louie who slammed his fist into jerks faces when they tried to steal his lunch money, and Louie who took all the heat with their parents so he didn't have to deal with it.
Louie was his hero, always had been, and always would be.
So when he and Lindsay were called into their sons' school because Donnie had been sent to the principal's office, Danny was only mad for about a minute. Then he saw his youngest son, Louie, who was looking up at his big brother like he was the greatest brother in the whole universe.
And he just knew.
He let Montana punish Donnie anyway, because fighting was wrong, but when she wasn't watching, he gave his son a pat on the back.
