Prompt: hug

"You can, uh, let me go now," Chloe said, when the giant superhero in black continued to cuddle her against his chest long after the threat had passed.

He did let go, jerking her away and grabbing her arms, before yelling in his deep, gravely voice, "What were you doing there?"

"It was a trap. I got information that…"

"I knew it was a trap, it's always a damn trap. You could have been killed."

She sighed, "I can take care of myself. Besides, you swooped in and saved the day so what's the problem?"

He growled again, but instead of speaking again, he picked her up and headed for the Batmobile.

"Uh, listen Batty, I know you're upset, but I've really got to get back to the office. I have work and…oomph."

Without a word, he got in and zipped away. He pulled up in front of her office a few minutes later and turned to her, "You work too much."

She could not stop the laughter that erupted for all the world, "Seriously that's the worst case of pot and kettle ever."

She wasn't sure, but she thought he smirked at her. Then he leaned over her body and she gasped the scent and feel of him against her driving her a little insane.

Oh, no, no, she was not falling for another superhero…definitely not.

"Here," he said, handing her what looking like an ordinary pen…except of course for the fact that the top was bat shaped, "Press it. Twice in a row, the pause five seconds and then twice more. I'll know you need me."

"My own personal Batman homing device. Aren't I special?"

"I'm serious," he said, his eyes dark and intense, "I'm not exactly a favorite in Gotham right now. Keep it to yourself and use it before you do anything crazy…like save me from a trap."

He's almost smiling again and she takes it as her cue to leave, "Well….thanks."

She steps out and he's zooming off the moment she's in the building.

But when she heads home three hours later, she can still feel someone watching her.

She smiles, grips her pen securely in her hand, and wonders when she'll get her next Bat hug.
