"Kei-chan… Why would you do this?" He continues to pin her against the tree, pushing the gun harder against her head.
"The exact same reason why you saw fit to try and kill me." Her eyes get wide in disbelief.
"Kei-chan! What the hell are you talking about?" He turns his head to the sky and laughs. Thunder booms, and almost makes the evening seem even more dreary, as this may be Mion's last few seconds to live.
"You told me yourself last night that you had it in for me. I heard it straight from the-"
"LIES!" He is taken back by her sudden breaking point. "LIAR! I never would plan to do anything of that sort! You must be insane! Maybe we should go home, you need rest…" He laughs again, only this time, not so fierce.
"The only thing I need is you dead!" He turns his head to a rustling in the bushes, and Rena appears.
"You have no reason to kill Mion." He smiles slyly.
"You think I don't?" She cocks her head.
"I know you don't." His smile turns to a frown.
"Why is that?" She steps forward out of the shade, revealing a syringe with a strange golden chemical in it.
"Mion stayed the night at my house last evening. It is impossible for her to be in two places at once." His laugh proves that he is not sane.
"Ah, Rena. I did not realize that you were part of this 'plan' also. I admit, you got me there!" He turns his gun towards the auburn-haired girl, his new target. Mion struggles against his hold.
"Rena! Don't!" Keiichi turns toward Mion again, ready to retort back. His face goes from sly to surprised, and time seems to go in slow motion, seconds turning to years. He looks down at his arm. Stuck in it, a syringe. The chemical burns, and he starts to feel his nerves and muscles go weak. His eyes go wide as the numbness spreads from his left arm to his chest and stomach, trailing to his legs. They start to go limp and he has one final chance. He shoots blindly towards the tree, catching Mion in the shoulder. She shrieks and presses her palm against the wound, attempting to keep the blood from rushing out. To no avail, though, she is losing blood at a staggering pace, watching half-blind as Keiichi has spasms on the ground, his body trying desperately to fight the drug that will ultimately make him pass out. If left untreated, it will kill him in a matter of a few days. Mion falls to the ground, suffering from blood loss. Rena is trying to wrap up Mion's shoulder in her knee-high socks, them becoming instantly dyed red. She hears sirens.
Somebody must've heard screams and yelling. I am glad. They will help Mion. Everything is alright. Don't panic.
Mion's eyes roll in the back of her head.
This isn't happening. This is just a dream. I can wake up. This isn't real life. Mion is not dying by the hands of her love. Mion isn't dying. When I wake up, she will be alive and well. I cannot panic. I am strong. Rena is strong. Yes. I can do this.
Mion's steady breathing becomes labored in short bursts.
The only thing the police hear as they pull up are Rena's screams.
