BEAUTIFUL

'I don't think I look like that, Hiwatari-san.'

It was a fresh Tuesday, early in the morning and Harada Risa was already frowning, looking at the picture her closest friend Hiwatari Satoshi drew just yesterday as an assignment to submit on their art class that day.

The artist frowned, 'How so?'

'I think my eyes are not that wide and sparkling…' she pursed her lips as she continued to look at the picture in scrutiny, '…and my cheeks aren't that pink, too,' the girl shrugged and put the paper back to his awaiting desk, accompanying it with a smile,

'Well, shortly, your picture looks way better than the original object. I like it, honest by God, but I don't think I'm that beautiful. Thank you, anyway. It's a great honor, being a Hikari's object to draw.'

The next thing to come was absolute silence, and she was surprised when his slender fingers lifted he face by touching her chin and brought it up. She quizzically looked up to him and blinked in surprise as she found his perfect sapphire eyes looking deep to her pair of chocolates in a different way.

The gaze was extremely intense. Not unfamiliar, but still unexpected.

What is it called? Warmly? No. More than that. Friendly? No. Still more than that.

Lovingly. Tenderly.

Yes. Much, much more tenderly.

Risa couldn't help but blushed. Any girl would, anyway, if it was the famed Hiwatari Satoshi who stares at them with this much intensity. Furthermore, his touch on her cheek was so gentle. Far too gentle to be counted as pure friendliness. After all, he was then beginning to slowly caress her cheeks whilst in the same time, looking straight to her eyes.

At this point Young Harada Risa had gone to a long blank; her senses slowly fading away. She wanted to look away—it frightened her how a simple gaze could render her this much helpless, but in the same moment she wanted it to last forever. This confused her so much, yet she still couldn't tear her gaze off his cerulean eyes.

Eventually, after several minutes passed on the seemingly-eternal staring contest, she succeeded to take a hold of herself; in finding her rational thoughts, and in mustering the exact amount of her acting ability needed to pretend that she wasn't nervous.

But she was. She really was. And she didn't know why.

She gulped and whispered, 'Yes?'

His intensity multiplied tenfold, causing her breath to stop on their way as Satoshi voiced with his smooth, gentle baritone,

'But you are that beautiful.'

Risa immediately hung her head down to hide the horrible heat of her furious red blush from her classmate. She found it impolite to suddenly be silent; after all, it was him, a pure-bred gentleman, in front of her.

'I—'she paused, then added, the nervousness etched on her voice, 'Th-thank you.'

The boy's lips were pulled to form a small, most minute smile and his gaze lingered on her for another fifteen seconds before leaving for his book.

'You're welcome.'

…..
