A/N: Hey guys! I'm back from a hiatus called school and work! Woohoo! Summer and all that...
Anyways! This is a little oneshot that popped into my head as an errant plot bunny so...
Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I own nothing of any of the characters, alternate universes, or anything of the sort you spot in this little ficlet of mine.
Harry Potter, Boy-Who-Lived, was standing on the hill overlooking the lake at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry when a strange voice spoke up next to him. "Beautiful night, isn't it?"
Rather than being alarmed, the boy replied, "Yeah... yeah it is..."
The figure next to him stretched its mouth into a grin, showing all of it's teeth. Harry gave the figure a glance, noting his muggle clothing. Blue, fur collared jacket over a white t-shirt with black shorts that have white stripes running down the sides all tied together with pink slippers. "Say... what's a muggle doing past the ward line? I thought there were Notice-Me-Not wards tied in with muggle-repelling ones? Or was I mistaken?"
"Muggle..." The man muttered with a frown, "such a negative word. I prefer mundane myself, but beggars can't be choosers, right?" The easy going grin returned as one of the figures eyes let off a light blue glow. The figure turned to Harry, managing to look serious despite the full blown grin.
"Hey, kiddo, listen well and memorize these words, okay? It's a message for your Headmaster. Tell him that the Underground is no more and that the monsters won't stand by and let this so called Dark Lord trample over our new home on the surface. We will fight for it. Also... ask him about a prophecy would ya?"
"Prophecy? What do you mean? Who are you? Where did you come from?"
"In order: Ask the Headmaster. You'll know when the time comes. Sans, Sans the Skeleton. The Underground." The figure said as it started to walk off.
"Sans...? Wait, how are you going to get back to your home? Do you need any help getting there?"
In response the Skeleton stopped and turned it's head just enough for it's glowing eye to show. "Nah. I know a shortcut. Stay safe kid, I've got my eye socket on ya."
Then he was gone, as if he was never there. Days went on by until Harry decided to corner the Headmaster and pass on the message from Sans. The old man paled before giving a weary sigh. He told Harry everything, leaving nothing out from his explanations, even going so far as to admit his suspicions regarding Voldemort's supposed "immortality".
Harry, not due to a lack of trying, could never find the errant Skeleton again. It was after the fight in the Ministry that he caught a glimpse of a glowing blue eye set in a grinning skull winking at him before disappearing altogether...
The End
A/N: I'm not that satisfied with the way this turned out, but I believe I can leave that hanging there for you guys to theorize about. Just give me a shout if you wanna write a continuation of it, 'kay?
This has been WolfeArisen and I bid you all a good night/day/evening and so on.
