He was a trickster like a fox.

His soul was lost like a raven.

She had affection and desired love.

But underneath there was a monster

and with his own will he became slave.

Saving faith takes more than a healer.

--

But there was steel in the eyes of the healer

and she found a faith with the fox

and in his mind he was still a slave

Still lost were his thoughts, those as a raven

and so he willed himself to become a monster

though his foe didn't hate him - but love.

--

And oh, it was a courageous love!

One that was as a disease incurable for a healer -

to save his life he became a monster.

He pitted his wits like a wild fox

and was swift like a flying raven

to stop his brother from becoming a slave.

--

But hatred became his master and he its slave

and too late he despised those who saw him with love.

He is more deprived then a raven.

Because the soft affections of a healer

turned into an unbending love for a fox

who she saw was anything but a monster.

--

For how could the sun be a monster

once she knew only to his village and to hope he was a slave?

He is nothing but a clever and witty fox

who became powerful and succeeds for the sake of love.

And beside him stands a steel-eyed healer

who one loved a boy with the eyes of a raven.

--

But still today can he be freed like a raven?

Or unleashed into the world is he instead a monster?

He spurned she who would one day be a healer

and to his own desires he became a slave.

For now she stands alongside a love

who was once just a silly and tricky fox.

--

Caged is the raven he is but a slave.

The way to save a monster is simply love.

And sometimes a healer will love a fox.
