In Hawk Moth's lair, the large circular window opens from sensing a negative emotion.
"Ah, nothing's more interesting than a woman crying from all the bad luck she caused. How very disastrous."
Hawk Moth extends his hand and a single butterfly lands on it. Then he covers it with his other hand, filling it with dark energy. The process turns it into an akuma.
"Go, my evil akuma, and help this woman change her luck forever! Ahahahaha!"
The akuma is sent flying away from his hand to the window of his lair, ready to prey upon its chosen victim.
It flies into Reika's deck of tarot cards, causing a moth-shaped emblem to appear on her face.
"Jinx, I am Hawk Moth," the supervillain spoke through her. "I have given you the power to control bad luck. From now on, your cards will cause bad luck whenever you use them. In return for this power, you must change my luck in bringing me the miraculous. Can you do that, hmm?"
"Yes, I think I can, Hawk Moth," Reika agreed to the deal.
As a result, she is covered with black and purple smoke emitting from the deck of cards. Once the smoke clears, her appearance changed, and she is now dressed like a harlequin with a red and black design.
"This is bad, right, Sirius?" Silvia asked her older brother with a frightened expression on what she just saw.
"It is bad, Silvia," Sirius responds while attempting to defend her.
Jinx pulls out a card from her deck and it's The Magician. With it, she used telekinesis to throw Silvia, Sirius, and Tsugumi out of the way before leaving to make her next move for Hawk Moth.
