May I Have This Dance?
Taichi woke up happy. He knew today was going to be a good day. Tonight, he was going to the school prom with Yamato. He was hoping for something that he yearned for so long. His wish would come true.
"Mom, what am I going to wear?" Taichi yelled into the other room.
"You can wear anything, just look good, OK?" his mother yelled back.
"OK!" he said.
Taichi decided to wear a suit - white shirt, black pants. He looked as formal as anyone could see. Even Hikari thought so.
"Wow. You look nice." Hikari said.
"Thanks." Taichi replied back.
Their conversation was interrupted by their mother.
"Are you ready to go Taichi?" she asked.
"Yes. Let's go!" he replied.
They picked Yamato up along the way. Yamato looked formal also.
"Wow." Taichi said.
"Thanks." Yamato replied.
Taichi's mother drove them to the prom, where there was something waiting that neither of them would ever forget.
The two got a photo together. Taichi had his arm around Yamato's shoulder, and was smiling at Yamato.
Lots of couples were dancing to slow, romantic music. Because Taichi and Yamato didn't have female dates, they decided to just sit around and watch.
Finally, a few hours later, the last song was about to play.
Taichi walked over to Yamato and said, "Yamato, may I have this dance?"
Yamato stood up and the two walked onto the dance floor. The last song was very slow and a sappy type of romantic. The two held each other close the whole time while they were dancing.
Taichi whispered, "Yamato, I've wanted to say this for a while. I love you. I was just too scared to tell you."
Yamato replied, "I love you too, Taichi. I was scared as well."
The two kissed lightly at first, the kiss gaining more passion every second. They both broke the kiss about thirty seconds later. They continued dancing.
This would be one night they would never forget.
