I used to speak loudly,
With fervor in my voice.
But it had never been
Words of my own choice.
I speak my words now
With some shaky tenor.
I can't agree when they
Announce this is better.
The time has finally come
For me to spread my wings.
To find my own way back-
Find a way to fix things.
In these troubled times,
I must learn to walk again.
In these broken times,
It's good to have a friend.
To hear your encouragement
Telling me I'm not wrong-
In your voice I hear and
Know what side I'm on.
