He had a good idea of where to find her for she had recently began looking up everything she could on the Cetra whenever she was given the chance. And now that they were in Cosmo Canyon, the most knowledgeable place on the Planet, he knew she would be spending even more time researching. Red XIII, or rather Nanaki as he was now called had said that the elders and the library were particularly good for information. So that was where he was heading now to find her.
He smiled at the image as he pushed back the curtain and watched her from the door, leaning casually against the frame. She was knelt on the floor, hunched over a low table that was covered with books. It was impossible to see any part of the wood at all and the candle that served as her light was slowly fading.
Slowly, he took a step forward, his footsteps catching her attention as she looked up, a smile reaching her mouth. He moved to kneel next to her, glancing at the pages before him. Aeris scooted over to give him more room and let out a tired sigh as she rubbed her eyes. Cloud noticed this and gave a sympathetic look.
"Perhaps you should relax. How about we go down to the Cosmo Candle for a minute or two?"
Her smile widened at that and she placed her head in her hand as she raised an eyebrow.
"What's this? Cloud Strife being all caring?" she teased. He rolled his eyes as a small smile made its way to his lips.
"Only about you," he replied before he could stop himself making them both blush and fall into silence. Aeris lowered her eyes a little.
"Did you mean that?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. Cloud's cheeks darkened before he gave a small, shy nod earning a giggle from the flower girl as she leaned towards him. As their lips were about to touch, a squeal sounded from behind the bookshelves and as they turned to look, Yuffie stepped out with a large grin on her face.
"I knew you wanted each other," she stated proudly as she walked out.
"How much did you hear?" Aeris asked. Yuffie shrugged.
"Everything," she answered before she disappeared. Cloud shook his head. That was the trouble with a library; it was so quiet that everyone could hear everything you said.
