They sat on the ledge inside the bay window, watching the stars.

Jacob was probably making a fool of himself with his mouth wide open and spilling hot cocoa all over him, but at this moment, which he was quite relieved about, Queenie didn't seem to care. She also didn't seem to be reading his mind, which was a plus. It was all over the place.

Her expression was light and airy and smiling as she stared up at the stars with her knees brought to her chest, her pink nightgown following over her shoulders like a blanket. She set down her tea and sighed.

"The stars are beautiful tonight," she said simply, curling a lock of hair around her finger.

"Yeah." Jacob agreed after a moment. They were in fact so bright tonight and seemed to light up the whole of the city, as with the girl across from him.

"You know what else is beautiful?" Queenie asked now. Several thoughts ran through Jacob's head before he settled on a quick reply.

"Well, I'm sure you know-"

"You already know, don'cha honey-" she only replied with a wink.

There was a few seconds before Queenie looked at him for a moment and just laughed, reading the train of thought running through the confused other man's head.

"I don't know whether I'm flattered or confused as to why your train of thought went from the answer being baked goods, wondering if I was going to say you were beautiful, and then declaring that I was beautiful."

"Well I mean- you are-" Jacob finally confessed.

Queenie blushed and turned away towards the stars again. "You're flattering."

"Really," he insisted. "You're a kick ass woman. A witch. You're a terrific cook. You have beautiful blonde curls and pretty eyes and a kind and light hearted soul-"

Queenie only cut him off but leaning over and pressing her lips to his, and Jacob stopped in his tracks completely with a sharp intake of breath. She was kissing him. She was kissing him!

"Thank you, sweetheart. But you, are the most magnificent no-maj I have ever met." She remarked, only giving that cute little nose-scrunched smile.

"Aren't I the only one?"
