A/N: Hello~ And welcome to PR:AT! This is a story on the side that I'll write alongside 'Knights Of Templar'. But with the high amount of time I have, I should be able to post a load of chapters for both. This story is set in the world of MMPR, which I'll explain later down the line. Anyways, onto the story...
The sun shone over a small dojo that rested in the backyard of a Mediterranean home. Inside of the dojo, four children of various ages wearing traditional kung fu uniform along with padding on their chest, arms, hands, and shins. And they also wore individual color bandannas that was tied onto their foreheads. They were sparring with each other, using different styles of techniques.
There was an African American boy who looked to be of age 15. He had a buzzcut and wore a green colored bandanna. He fought with a low stance and struck with powerful jabs.
Sparring with him, was a Caucasian blonde who looked to be 13. His blonde hair was styled in low fade and wore his blue bandanna with pride. He struck fast, laying down a flurry of jabs and kicks.
"Can't keep up, Dylan!" The boy with the blue band taunted, laying down another jab which his opponent blocked with his forearms.
"And you couldn't hit harder if you tried!" The boy with the green band knocked him back with a strong strike to the chest.
"Hey Olivia… who do you think will win?" A Japanese girl wearing a pink band who looked to be at the age of 11, asked her friend sitting right next to her.
"My money's on Dylan, Quinton ate a Fire-Breather Burrito before sparring…" The other girl remarked, she was hispanic who looked to be 13. On her forehead, was a yellow bandanna.
And on cue, Quinton gripped onto his stomach. The burning sensation completely paralyzed him, leaving him open for attack. Dylan decided to let him off easy, settling on a quick push to the mat.
"Gah!- Cheap move dude!" After this quick outburst, he struggled to pick himself off the ground as that burning feeling wouldn't leave.
"Well, that's what you get for eating before we spar…" Dylan deadpanned as his friend fumed with anger.
"He has a point, Quinton…" An old Chinese man in his 50's spoke out, casually sipping tea from his porcelain cup. "You knew the risk of taking that burrito, you could have settled on a nice taco…" He flashed a small smirk. "And yet you decided on the burrito."
"Give him a rest dad…" A Chinese man who appeared to be in his mid-30's sighed, carrying a pitcher of lemonade in one hand and a platter of cookies along with a bottle of stomach relief syrup for Quinton.
The four children scurried over to the snacks and began helping themselves. "They really like your cookies hon." A Caucasian woman giggled seeing these kids chow down.
In her arms, was a 10 month old girl. As she placed her daughter into the dojo, she started to crawl over to her grandpa. With a warm smile, he carried the little girl in his arms. "You want to train with us as well, my little Sophie?" The baby began to gurgle in delight as her grandfather cooed over her.
"Hey…" The girl with the pink band spoke out. "Where's Ed?"
But a loud slam onto the mat jolted the attention of everyone in the dojo. The slam came from a Chinese boy who was at the age of 12, he had wore his training clothes along with the padding and tied a red bandanna to his forehead. He had a large, prideful smile on his face as he looked upon the old man.
"AHA!" He jabbed a finger towards him. "I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED MY CHORE OF CLEANING MY ROOM!" He had spoke in a exaggerated voice, somewhat like a 70's dub of those old kung fu movies. "MEANING WE CAN FINALLY SPAR, HONORABLE GRANDFATHER!"
The old man handed the baby over to his son and stood up with a strong sneer. "WELL! COME AT ME, HONORABLE GRANDSON!"
His friends and family cheered him on as he charged at the old man, jabbing him in the shoulder. In retaliation, the man grabbed onto his forearm. He attempted to sweep his grandfather's leg in order to break free, but was too late. As he slammed his grandson onto the mat on his back.
He felt utter shame as the cheers died down. But what really hit the nail on the coffin was Sophie still clapping as he laid onto the floor. Dirty traitor…
"Hey need some help?" The pink banded girl walked over to him and offered him a hand with a light grin.
"Thanks, Robyn…" Ed returned the smile after being picked up off the ground. She also handed him a cookie, instantly swiping it from her hand as she waved it in front of his face.
"Now then," Their sensei had took a seat onto a pillow, gathering their attention as he spoke in a serious tone. "I believe I promised to tell you five a story…"
The kids jumped right in front of him, kneeling down onto their shins. They shook as they anxiously waited for him to continue. There was nothing but silence as the old man scrunched his face. "I've forgot…"
"Seriously Sensei?!"
"What do you mean, 'you forgot' sensei?!?"
"Yeah! You promised us to tell us 'an epic tale that would leave us on the edges of our seats'!"
"How could you forget something like that…"
"Gramps! You better be joking!"
"I am! Hahah!" He raised his hands up and began chuckling. The five dropped to the ground, unable to say a single word at this point.
He cleared his throat before beginning, "Now… our story starts off with two clans."
-(~0~)-
"There were two clans that lived peacefully on the mountains of ancient China."
"The Thunder Clan… kind, helpful, passionate about keeping peace. They would hone the art of Kung Fu, creating the techniques that you five use."
"The Earth Clan… these people were strong willed, prideful in their strength. Their emperor, Gaius, was a man with high ambitions, he wanted to create a world where the weak did not exist as he saw the weak drag us down from evolving into higher beings."
"Gaius waged war on the townsfolk nearby, exterminating who ever refused to work for their village. But the Clan of Thunder stood in their way, involving themselves in their conquest."
"The war between the two clans lasted for years. Near its end, the Earth Clan clearly had the advantage. They had more men, more weapons, and had taken most of the land. But a beacon of light shined down onto the Thunder Clan…"
"Mythical monsters called the 'Aura Beasts' had offered the clan their power in the form of gems after seeing the Earth Clan's desire destroy the world around them. The beasts had given the power to five warriors after proving their might. And with this power, they had turned the tides of the war. Putting an end to it by sealing away Gaius forever."
"But with the war destroying their land, both clans had fallen…. Forgotten from history."
-(~0~)-
"Well.. that was sad." Robyn commented with a solemn expression.
Seeing this, Ed awkwardly wrapped an arm around her. "Hey, don't be sad… it's not even real." He quickly retracted his arm after Robyn looked at his comforting with a dumbfounded expression.
"Yeah Sensei," Quinton bobbed his head in agreement. "How can you know about it, if it was forgotten from history?"
In response, their sensei pulled out five individually colored gems. "Well, maybe this is proof enough for you…" he held a proud smirk. "These gems are the same in the story."
He handed them the gems that shared the same color as their bands. While Robyn looked at her's in wonder, the other four had skepticism clear on their face. But their thoughts were interrupted when they had heard Ed's parents called them in for lunch.
As they scurried inside, Ed's dad walked over to his father with a worried expression. "I still don't like this…." he admitted, crossing her arms over his chest.
"Calm yourself son…" he clapped a hand on his shoulder. "They are going to fight yet… it seems that they are still dormant."
"That doesn't change the fact that my son and his friends, whenever age they may be, is going to fight monsters that can kill them."
"They are completely capable in a fight.. and when the time comes, we must guide them in the right direction."
He casted his eyes downward, a slight frown on his face. "...do you really have to go?"
"Yes…" He had been planning on returning back to China for the longest time, leaving his family here in America. "I need to find them before they emerge, and you know that…"
He was left speechless after hearing this, a deafening silence was all that came from him.
"If I don't return by the time they emerge, then I ask you… lead the children on the right path." He looked at his son with pleading eyes.
"I got it dad," he sighed in exasperation. Hearing this, the old man walked over to his bag. Before he left the premise, he looked over to his son. One last time…
"Good luck…" and like that, he was gone.
And ten years later, he still hasn't shown his wrinkly face...
A/N: So I've kinda struggled thinking which gender the Yellow Ranger would be but in the end, I decided on a girl for classic Ranger tradition. And finally, this chapter was just to introduce the characters before diving into monster stuff. Anyways, see you next time!
