So here's the deal, my computer pretty much spazzed out on me and it was in the shop for I don't know how long. I just recently got it back and was suffering huge writer's block, even though I had some tiny little ideas of what I wanted to write. Just thought I owed you guys an explanation as to why I hadn't posted anything new recently.

Anyway, this story is a short (I highly stress the term 'short') post-Burned fic. How could I not write a story about something relating to Burned? The episode was simply incredible and there were so many good scenes, I doubt I could even name half of them. So here's my first fic back. Don't forget to review. :)

For the first time in almost a month, Elliot and Olivia were enjoying a comfortable silence. It finally seemed as though they were making progress in their partnership and friendship.

Olivia smiled to herself as she glanced out the window. It felt good to be back on speaking terms with Elliot again. It felt good knowing that they were back on track and she was slowly, but surely tuning back in sync with him.

Elliot looked over at his partner and couldn't help but marvel at her beauty. The orange dim of the streetlights was casting a light, almost angelic glow to Olivia's already angelic features. He watched as her eyes surveyed the buildings outside, her eyes softly twinkling.

Even though she would never admit it, Elliot knew she had missed the city while she was gone. She lived, worked, and just simply belonged in the city. No small town could even handle Olivia. He chuckled lightly. He wasn't really one to be talking about 'handling things'. Olivia looked over at the sound of Elliot laughing.

"What?"

"Huh? Nothing." Elliot smiled, keeping his eyes on the road. Olivia returned the smile and sat up a little straighter in her seat.

"Hey Liv,"

"Hm?"

"I never told you I was glad you're back."

She smiled, staring forward. "Was glad?"

Elliot stopped at a red light and looked over at her, blue eyes locking with brown. "Am glad."

He smiled broadly and Olivia felt the warmth rise into her cheeks. She looked away, grinning, attempting vainly to conceal her red cheeks.

Olivia was never much of a blusher. Usually when she received a compliment, she said 'thank you' and accepted it graciously. But when Elliot complimented her, she blushed.

Did saying 'welcome back' really qualify as a compliment, anyway? Munch had welcomed her back and she definitely didn't feel the way she was feeling now.

Whatever the case was, Elliot knew how to make her blush, and honestly, she had no problem with that.

I apologize for the shortness, but, hey, it's better than nothing, right? ;)
