Movie Night: ContestQueenShipping
May knew that with some things she became a pushover. Wallace never failed to bring this up whenever she went over for 'family dinner night.' He seemed to enjoy it when May would weakly argue against Lisia, only to given in to the strong willed girl. With Lisia, May was at her weakest but she never rolled over. The brown hair girl's beliefs and reasons stood strong, and that was why Lisia picked her out of the crowd a year ago. Sometimes though, May would sit down and let Lisia take controls of their relationship.
If they were to go out somewhere extravagant, May would always let Lisia pick out their clothing. The brunette had no sense of what to wear at fundraiser balls or movie premiers. She would rather go comfortable than cocktail dress. Lisia always knew what worked, and would fit May with the best.
When they went out to see hike around the region, May got to pick Lisia's clothes. Or, she got to choose three outfits and Lisia chose whatever she felt like wearing that day. This worked for May. No one could dictate what the naturally great, contest protégé should look like. May respected Lisia and Lisia respected May's choices in return.
There was one part of their relationship May liked to take advantage of. When it came to movies, Lisia declared early on that she didn't care as long as it wasn't too gory. May agreed with that request, she had seen enough gore for one life time. So the movie picked was always dependent on May's mood. If she wanted a good laugh with her girlfriend, it was a comedy. If she wanted kisses, it was a light-hearted romance. May chose the movie, and their night would go with the genre.
One particular night was a psychological horror film. May wasn't terrified of the ghost haunting the family - she had stuck her hand inside a dark portal because Brendan was being a wimp - and instead was loudly telling at the protagonist that she was being stupid. Lisia had curled up to her side early on and had gone from terrified to laughing at the onscreen stupidity.
"Don't go back into the house," May whined. Lisia giggled and snuggled her head in closer to May to shield her eyes as the music turned terrifying. "You know the ghost lady is in there. No- and she just saw her friend get murdered. I'm sorry sweetheart, but if you know I'm in with the ghost, don't come back for me."
"Don't worry," Lisia said while peeking at the screen, "I won't."
"Good," May declared, taking her eyes away from the screen to kiss the top of her girlfriend's head. "I don't want you to get hurt."
"You don't have to be worried for me," Lisia said. She pecked May's lips and settled against her shoulder. "I am much smarter than some horror movie girl."
"I know," May breathed and leaned her head on Lisia's. "I still worry."
"Don't." Lisia flinched as the ghost followed the protagonist around the house. She griped May's arm tighter. "I should be worried about you. You'd probably come after me."
"Of course," May laughed and swung her arm around the teal haired girl to bring her closer. "I wouldn't leave you to fend for yourself."
Lisia pushed May down on the couch. May looked up with bright eyes. Lisia lay down on the brunette's stomach. The teal haired snuggled between the couch and her girlfriend, simply saying, "I know."
May silently turned the movie off and let her girlfriend fall asleep. She slowly stroked Lisia's hair, whispering a, "Goodnight."
Lisia smiled and whispered, "Goodnight."
May loved their movie nights.
Lisia did, too.
