"Haru? Haru!" I called through the locker room. I hadn't seen him since class ended, but I'd just assumed Haru went to practice early or something. I opened the door to the pool finding Gou-er- Kou-chan.

"Manager? Have you seen Haru?" I asked her.

"No...," she replied slowly, shaking her head. "If anyone knew, wouldn't you, Makoto-senpai?" I sighed.

"Not today, he left class in a rush today. I thought he was just too eager for the pool."

Just then, Nagisa came barreling in, pulling Rei with him.

"Ha~lloo!" he sang as Rei tried to regain his balance. "Announcement: Haru said he will be missing practice today!"

No one said anything for a moment. Haru loved water. He never refused a chance to be in the water, so why now?

"Is he sick?" Kou asked.

"I believe I saw him head to the gate-" Rei started before being interrupted by Nagisa.

"Ehh? But he came to school today. Was he fine this morning, Mako-chan?"

"This morning? He looked fine...," I replied. Rei opened his mouth to say something when Nagisa interrupted again.

"Ah! But he was a bit squeamish as well!" Nagisa wagged his finger at us.

"Well, yeah, but-" Rei started.

"Maybe he has a fever!" Nagisa concluded.

"As I was saying-"

"Let's start practice!"

"I SAW HARUKA-SENPAI PICK UP A GIRL IN THE NEXT CLASS!" Rei shouted in frustration.

Nagisa froze in mid-run. Haru? Haru left for a date? Haru ditched water for a date? Something was more important to Haru than swimming? Than water? And he didn't tell me!? It wasn't so much of a shock that he had a girlfriend, but more of the fact that he passed up an entire chance with water. Even Rin's girlfriend would at least stay and watch practice and then they'd go out after. It occurred to me that this girl must mean a lot to Haru. I chuckled a bit.

"What is it? Nagisa asked. I shook my head with a smile.

"Haru's all grown up now. With him and Rin, makes me feel left out."

"Now let's just hope that this mystery girl can get him off of mackerel," Rei laughed. We all laughed in return. It was nice to see that Haru had finally fallen in love with something. Something other than water.
