So I was supposed to start this a while ago. I had no idea what to do with this until this morning while thinking of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida."

This was a challenge from Mad Writer in Manila. The prompt was "Rewrite an Arthurian legend to feature Hetalia characters, but with them still as nations." So… Enjoy.

Warnings: England bashing, Gender bending, OCs, and whatever else I come up with on the spot.

Prologue

Rain fell on the land as Rose looked up to the sky. She had just lost the war against America… Alfred of all people. There she stood, on her knees, staring up at the sky while salt mixed with pure water.

"So the boy finally did what you feared." A callous, hateful voice called. "He shall be greater than you ever were."

"No…" Rose hissed darkly, as her platinum hair covered her face. "I was once a king!"

"And your own stupid ego is still intact." The other voice called. "He will be greater than you."

"No!" She cried wildly. She searched around with wide horrified eyes. They caught sight of a familiar cobalt blue. "I will always be remembered!"

"No… Arthur's ideals will be remembered and they shall live on in the true once and future king, Rose. No matter how hard you try, fate shall have its way." The other woman replied finally showing herself.

"No… I am the greatest nation this world has ever known and I was the greatest king ever! The world shall always know me.!" She cried, forcing herself up with an angry look. "I am the greatest the world will ever know!"

"No, you aren't. Many will love you but they will not ever know nor will they ever believe you were King Arthur." The woman replied coldly. "Your brothers and I ensured that you would live as a dwindling shadow."

"You were jealous of her! That's why you did it! That's why you brought that wife stealing bastard into my court! Guinevere would have been faithful if that frivolous frog would not have come! Angevin admit it!" She cried loudly.

"I admit that I was jealous, but not of her. I was jealous that you could easily forget your duties to go and act as if you actually knew what nobility and honor were. I was never jealous of your love for her. I never wanted your affections. You know that." Angevin stated. "You were so caught up in your own fantasy. You did not realize that your people needed you as a country not as their king. But a new sun has risen."

"I…"

"Rose… You can't hold on to that foolish belief that you will become a man again and be king. Don't you remember at all?"

"I… I remember…." She whispered in a broken tone.

No sense…. It actually won't make sense until the next chapter.

I would explain it but then it would give the story away :D

If I could have 2-3 reviews that would be lovely.
