Stare

She was staring at the board, or at least pretending to.

Looking closer, her eyelids were closed, and to anyone else, she could have been asleep.

But she wasn't.

Her lips quirked upwards into a half smile every time someone made a witty remark.
Her left foot tapped rhythmically, to a melody nobody esle could hear.
She shifted in her seat, trying to get comfy in the hard, wooden desk.

It was these things,

These small habits,

Tiny, and barely perceptible,

That he noticed and no one else seemed to.

Nobody else was staring.

The bell rang, her eyes snapped open, and suddenly, he was staring into a shade of clear grey-blue that made his pulse jump.

Averting his gaze, and turning ten shades of red, he managed to grab his notebook, and speed out the door –hands sweating- and refused to as much as glance back at her.

Azure eyes followed his form as he spilled out of the classroom and into the hallway with the other geometry students.
Shaking her head and running long fingers through her hair self-consciously, she turned and looked at the two seats directly behind her.

Empty.

Was he looking at me?

A/N: This drabble is the reason I have no idea whats going to be on my geometry quiz tomorrow.
