After inserting the vics SIMs card into the analyzer, Danny sat staring at the monitor, watching as the numbers ran by. Sighing, he knew this could take a few hours. If he could move his damn legs he would be pacing back and forth.

He was a mover by nature, never able to stand, sit or lay without moving. But since the shooting, he can't do anything but roll and get under foot sometimes.

Lucy loved it at first; daddy was sitting all the time, so she sat on his lap. But then she hit the squirmy, 'I don't wanna be held' stage. She wanted her daddy to hold her little hands and walk behind her. She wanted her daddy to pace back and forth with her when she cried at night.

Hell, HE wanted that!

He wanted to walk with his family in Central Park. He wanted to jump up and cheer when she hit the game winning home run on her little league team. HE wanted to coach that team!

He wanted to bend down to kiss his wife. He wanted to cook for his wife. He wanted to make love to his wife again.

He couldn't just sit around anymore and wait for someone to tell him how to get his body to work properly again. He was already able to make his toes move by himself.

Looking around the lab, he tried to figure out what he could do to build his body mass back up. Seeing the bar hanging from the ceiling, he rolled over to it.

Reaching up, he pulled down on it checking to see how much weight it could handle. Satisfied, he pulled himself up, trying to push up with his leg muscles as well. He could do chin ups all day long, but the goal was to get his legs working again.

He strained a little, but the images of his little Lucy crawling after Lindsay wherever she went in their apartment kept him going. A flash of Lindsay trying to soothe a screaming Lucy because all she wants is her daddy to pick her up and walk with her nearly made him tear up, but he kept pushing on. A picture of his exhausted Montana, giving birth to their daughter naturally, made him grit his teeth harder. The night Lindsay woke up in severe pain from mid-back down at 3 am and he had to take her to the hospital AFTER having Lucy, made him grunt harder and pull up faster.

His family needed him, and he wasn't about to give up. He had fought long and hard just to get Lindsay to trust him again, to get her to let him back in. His family meant too much to him.

Besides Montana always told him how much she loved his arms, and doing a couple sets of pull ups would definitely help.
