Gabrielle and Xena had traveled many miles and wound up being transported to the alternate dimension of the Crouniks. Argo was extremely nervous. It was almost nightfall.
"Gabrielle, where are we?"
"I have no idea. Xena look out!"
What had appeared to be a tree had suddenly burst into a flaming figure, it was glistening and a noise that could only be described as awful and paralyzing, even to Xena, was being emitted from it. What had caused Gabrielle's shout of warning was that it had swung at her.
"It disappeared!"
"What in the name of Hades was that thing!
A blinding flash of light and a huge blue creature says,
"You are not welcome here! You have both shed blood. All Crouniks do not accept those who kill. I am Medikanika, you must leave before sunrise."
Xena asks, "Where in Tartarus are we?"
" You are in the sacred land of the Crouniks. We are sacred unto Athena. No mortal shall stay after the sun has risen. I will tell you a way out, but you must take one of the Crouniks with you. You will teach them how to fight, they will become an Emissary to your kind."
This Crounik knew that there was no way to convince Xena to take her younger sister.
"I cannot take one of you with me, if none of you can shed blood they will be killed."
During this time Gabrielle had been looking around,
"Umm, Xena, was Argo surrounded by flames a minute ago?"
"No,"
"Well, she is now."
Medikanika said in a low growl, "Ares, he sent you here!"
She struck Gabrielle so hard that she flew through a tree, and laid there unconscious. Xena went for her Chakram but it was gone. All of the Vegetation around them was on fire and helping Medikanika. She couldn't find any weapon.
"I didn't come here by choice, Medikanika. If Ares did send me than it wasn't with my knowledge."
There was no communicating with the Crounik. She was about to fillet Xena when Gabrielle suddenly felt a cold splash of water on her,
"Whaa- Joxer!"
"Oh, sorry Gabrielle, I was trying to make my famous killria Chili."
Theme to Xena plays at same time as "Joxer the Mighty"
