Solace

Solace, in this world, is found through the normalcy of soulmates. That is, being born with the words that your soulmate would first say to you. It is normal for everyone to have one sentence for their soulmate somewhere on their body. Even normal for some to have more than one sentence on their body. Soulmates doesn't necessarily mean that the two are romantically involved. Someone could share their soul with a parent or sibling. Once the soulmate phrase was said the skin would burn for a few seconds and create a bond between the people.

For the longest time, society has been at war. It's the same over the decades. Racism, mutant gene vs everyone else. Soulmates are a solace because of the fighting. Soulmate tattoos don't discriminate between a person's age, gender, religion, or genes.

This is where we start this story.

Las Vegas

October 28, 1981

On this day, it would be noted that two babies were born in Las Vegas General Hospital, one boy and one girl. The mother was just barely able to get the names for them out before she died after giving birth to them. Complications from the labor, they would tell the father. Spencer Summers came out first, born with two sentences on his body, one on his hip and the other on his hand. Amygdala Summers was born last, right before their mother had passed away due to eclampsia. Amygdala was born with two sentences also, one on her hand, opposite her brother, and one on her shoulder.

The father, Christopher, who didn't want anything to do with the two babies that killed his wife, Katherine, sent them to live with her sister and brother-in-law. Diana and William Reid took them in happily and raised them as their own.

1982

Spencer was the first one to talk out of the two Summers/Reid kids. His first word was 'Dala,' which caused Amygdala to start crying from the burn on her hand. She spoke later that same day, burning the back of Spencer's hand when calling him 'Pen.' A few minutes after the words were said, the pain was forgotten and they went to playing again.

P.S: So if you can't tell this is a crossover between criminal minds/x-men. The pairings will be m/m. I just got back to writing so please give opinions.
