Chapter 1
5 months after George's death 16 year old Kali O'Malley comes into the hospital and goes to her moms office.
"Hey Mom." she says and kisses her cheek "How was your day?" Kali wonders
"Hi sweetie, fine" Callie kisses Kali's cheek quickly "and yours?" Callie wonders
"It was fine." she says sitting up on the counter and pulls out and unwraps a 3 Musketeers candy bar and takes a bite out of it
"so I did a lot more thinking of what I want for my birthday." Kali tells her
"oh really well what?" Callier wonders
"a Tatoo." Kali tells her
"what?" Callie says
"yeah I even drew you out the picture to you show you. It's kind of cool actually I did it in art class." Kali pulls it out and flips open her sketch book to show Callie
"see." Kali says
Callie just takes the book from her and looks at it and it's George's name with a stethascope and his birth and death date around it.
Tears start flooding Callie's eyes.
"Mom?" Kali wonders
Callie wipes her eyes "he would like this." Callie tells her
"really, so does this mean I can get it?" Kali wonders
"well see Kal, I just need to check and see if this is cool with Arizona first." Callie tells her
"but why?" Kali wonders
"because she's still like your half mom and I love her and I don't want to fight with her about this because she is a pediatrician and loves you and probably wouldn't approve of you inking your body just yet." Callie tells her
"Pediatric surgeon and your my biological mom so why would it matter to her it's still my body." Kali tells her
"don't push me Kal, not now pleasee." Callie tells her
"okay fine, just sleep on it." Kali tells her
"I will." Callie tells her
Kali just looks at her.
"I will." Callie tells her again seriously
