"Mom! I'm home." Sasuke called as he walked in the door.
"Hello, Sasuke. You're home early today." Mikoto said, "Don't you usually train before you come home?"
"Yeah, but, I..I" Sasuke looked down at the floor, and blushed.
"You what?" Mikoto bent down to look her son in the eyes.
"Well, since it's Brother's birthday..I..uh..want to bake him a cake" Sasuke fumbled with his fingers.
"Oh? Is that so?" Mikoto laughed under her breath.
After explaining to her son how to make a cake, Mikoto left her son standing in the kitchen. She came back ten minutes later to find utter mayhem.
Mikoto sighed, placed her hand on her face, and shook her head, "Sasuke." She took a deep breath. and took her palm off of her face.
Sasuke, who was leaning over a bowl, looked up and said, "What is it Mom?"
"Look around you! You've made a mess." Mikoto laughed to herself a bit. Normally, she'd be fuming, but she couldn't help but be a amused by her son's obliviousness.
Sasuke looked around, and laughed nervously, "Oh. Sorry. Well..at least your apron is still clean." Mikoto raised an eyebrow, " You wore my apron?"
Sasuke nodded his head eagerly.
Mikoto smiled at her son in a way that only mothers can. She turned around to go into the living room, and as she was walking, she thought about how lucky she was to have such a wonderful family. Just a few minutes later, the front door creaked open.
Sasuke ran over to the door, and tackled the figure standing in the door way, "Happy birthday, Big Brother!"
Itachi looked at his younger brother, and smiled. He enjoyed being with Sasuke, it was a refreshing break from ANBU missions.
Itachi chuckled, and said, " Hello, Sasuke. I see you're wearing mom's apron again, what did you bake this time?"
Sasuke smiled brightly, " I baked you a cake!"
Itachi hugged his brother tightly, "Thanks, Sasuke."
Once the two brothers had pulled away from each other, Mikoto looked at the elder of the two, he face blank, and said "He's baked before? He's worn my apron before?"
"Yes, multiple times. What do you think he does when you go to get groceries?"
Mikoto shook her head, "No wonder why we've been running out of flour so quickly."
