Chapter 1
I sat on the leathery cushion of the limo, noticing the rain hitting the window on an early dawn. My Agent, Axel, sat across from me, next to my father, a busy CEO of a phone company. Next to me was sitting my stylist, Larxene, and my younger brother Isa.
I scratched the side of my eye, trying not to get eyeliner in it. Axel snapped his head towards me. "Hey, don't smear your makeup, okay? You have to look perfect!" He said.
"I know, I know!" I groaned. As fun as it was, I really didn't like my job. Being a super model wasn't easy, that's for sure. Day in and day out, it feels like you have to run all over the place, try on dresses, move on, take a few pictures, and go to the next photo shoot, over and over again. I could really use a break.
"…Alright," Axel sighed. "I'm just looking out for you, you know," he said. "Hold on, I gotta take this," he mumbled, pulling out the ringing cell phone in his pocket, made by my father's company, of course.
I leaned my head against the leather cushion that supported my head. I wondered when this day would end, even though I knew it was just beginning.
Larxene crossed her arms and looked my outfit up and down like she always does whenever she has spare time. "You know, blue is totally your color. Not just because it's your hair color though. It really brings out your eyes. But not because those are blue either," she said, waving a hand at me.
I listened to Axel chatting on his phone, my annoyed father glaring at him from all the noise. I didn't pay much attention, considering how early it was, but he was going on about money and budgets and shoots in later months. After he was done he clasped his phone shut with a snap, and tucked it away in his pocket.
"Is there a problem, Axel?" My father asked, wondering if any of the money mentioned was coming out of his pockets.
"Don't sweat it, Saix!" Axel said in the loud way that he does, waving his hands in front of him. "It's just that the photo shoot in a few months is going to cost a little extra," he said, making my father sigh.
My little brother looked up at me from his PSP, kicking his legs back in forth, appearing to be one of the very few in the limo with energy at the moment. "Wow, Aquaaa…people pay a lot of money just to see you look pretty. I can't even have my own phone…" My brother pouted loudly as he returned to his game.
My father snapped his head towards my younger brother. "Isa," he said in a stern voice. "If you keep talking like that you will be grounded and you won't be allowed to come to your sister's photo shoots anymore. Be grateful for what you have."
"Yes, Father," Isa groaned, shrugging his shoulders, Returning the limo into the silence that it once was.
Larxene sipped her coffee in boredom. Larxene never let me have coffee. She said it was bad for your complexion, and gets mad at me if I ever have it, even though she drinks it every day. It's probably a lot better for me than getting no sleep anymore so it's kind of ridiculous.
I felt the limo slow down and pull over to a curb as the driver told us we were at our stop. Axel tapped my arm. "Ready to shine, Aqua?"
I sighed loudly again. "I guess so,"
"Come on, smile a little!" Axel pouted. "You're going to have to do a lot of it later, right?"
"Sure," I mumbled, stepping out of the limo door and outside into the rain.
