Arthur watched Merlin bustle around his chambers, tidying up. Merlin worked nonstop, bending, stretching and wiping. It was a lovely view, but Arthur's heart was low.
He'd thought Merlin trusted him. Merlin wasn't intimidated by him being the prince, he'd banter, call him names - whether or not he deserved them - wait, he was the prince, he never deserved them! But Merlin was the only person he'd ever considered a friend.
Yet Merlin never admitted he had magic. Arthur tried to gain Merlin's trust but he never said anything. As if he'd missed his servant saving his life repeatedly.
