chapter 1 beginning
My name is Alex Midnight. I'm 13, black, and a orphan. I go to Charleston academy for the poor.
So I was skipping class when, Alex Midnight report to the office. So I thought I was caught again.
When I got there it was dark and empty. I saw a dark figure. "Principal is that you?" I said. "I have waited a long time to get you." Out of nowhere some canine beast attacked me.
I did the smart thing and ran. I found a broken broom and started hitting it. "Die doggie, die." I said. Suddenly I felt pain and I started falling. Last thing I saw was an arrow and the beast disintegrating.
When I woke up a girl with daylight eyes and a man with purple vines in his eyes were talking. "Since the brat is awake take him to see the film, i'm too tired to talk." He said. "Hi i'm Vanessa but you can call me Nessa. Whats your name? Vanessa said. "Alex Midnight." I said. "Well let me show you the film."
After the film Vanessa explained to me, how i was knocked out when they found me and how no one knew who killed the beast/hellhound. Vanessa gave me a tour of the whole camp and campers. We stopped in front of the armory. "Let's get you a weapon." said Vanessa.
