Mrs Hughes was still a bit in shock, how, in a place like downton could this ever happen. She had heard of male servants in other houses taking advantage of their female colleagues, but never something as bad as this. And at Downton! Downton had always seemed so safe. But obviously nothing was quite what it seemed. some how that man, that vile vile man had managed to destroy the kindest, sweets sole in the hole house. Also she now bitterly regretted promise, to not tell a sole about what had happened. She can only think of it as 'what happened'. But not as what it truly is, because the truth is just to horrible. Anna, oh sweet, sweet Anna was defiled, violated. Whilst she was up stairs enjoying the music Anna was downstairs being violently raped.
what happen to Anna next. How would he cope keeping such a big secret to herself. What would she do at home when she could no longer hide from Mr Bates.
