He'd waited fifteen years for her. Anyone would think he was incapable of waiting even fifteen minutes for a girl,
but he did. He waited for her alone. Fabian Prewett watched as his brother and Marlene McKinnon were reunited, how James and Lily Potter were content in each others arms and he joined those who mourned the living, those who had been left behind. For him it was Emmeline Vance. She drove him insane all through Hogwarts and through the Order,
but she was one of the few girls who could say no to him, and he admired that. Then came that day when they shared that kiss and well, they were together after that. Annoying each other and defending each other as best they could. and then he ruined their fractured bit of happiness by dying. Fabian watched as she struggled past his death and couldn't help but wonder how much he really meant to the girl. Then there was peace...and he watched as she went those years of normality, watched her date other men, watched her love...Watched her heart get shattered. He was angry for her, how dare those idiots hurt her like that? Didn't they know how special she was? How brilliant and intelligent and loving and kind and brave she was? Then came that day, the day the war broke out again and both he and Gideon watched with fire in their eyes as they wished they could fight once more but also wishing for their sister's safety and her family, and for their remaining friends, although by now there certainly weren't many left. Fabian watched as Emmeline died, his heart shattering as she fell so gracefully from her fight...and then, she was there...With him. and he was running to her and he wrapped his arms around her and he promised himself he was never going to let go. He noticed how she looked exactly the same, same as when he left her fifteen years before, all sense of age and sadness gone from her features. She was his Emmeline once more. Pulling back slightly from their embrace, he smiled and spoke in a soft voice "I love you, you know Vancey?"
