'Twas the Night Before Star Wars

'Twas the night before Star Wars and all through the ship, Only Anakin had stayed awake for the trip. Anxiously he waited for his old friend to arrive, In hope that Padme Amidala would soon get there alive.

The crewmen were nestled all snug in their beds, As visions of Naboo danced in their heads. Obi Wan in his robes in his plain gray room. Sat practicing the Jedi arts and bending a spoon.

When over on the console there arose such a clatter

He sprang from the chair to see what was the matter.

Away to the viewscreen he flew like a flash,

Pushed on the buttons and knobs with a crash.

The suns on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the luster of mid-day to the planet below,

When, what to his wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature ship as it drew quickly near.

With a regal young woman, so lively and lean,

He knew in a moment it must have been the Queen.

Now she's a senator, he knew in a flash Then he turned towards his room and made out for his stash.

Let's see, roses and chocolates, and red little cherries

A locket, some kisses, and many blue berries.

Now in to the shuttle bay. "Why can't it hurry?" Now scurry in, hurry in, don't make me worry.

And then with a bang the shuttle bay doors started to close.

And as Anakin watched, the air pressure rose. The shuttle's doors opened and secured with a "click", Then out walked the senator. Man, was she quick.

The dress that she wore made her look like a beauty, Even thought it was just one of the million for the movie.

It was then that she turned and looked into his eyes, And the look on his face wore no hiding disguise.

Her eyes -- how they twinkled! Her dimples how merry!

Her cheeks were like roses, Her nose like a cherry!

Her laughter was like a bird's on a sweet summer day, Like the soft summer sun on the flowers of May.

She spoke not a word, but went straight to his arms,

They hugged and they kissed, love working it's charm.

He pointed to the fireplace, he had made just for her,

They laughed and they talked like a young boy and girl.

Time passed in a flurry, it soon passed midnight, When Obi-Wan forced him to turn out the light Amidala heard him exclaim as he walked out of sight, "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!"
