Every time Addison saw the intern she felt a flutter in her chest. It was a familiar feeling, one she had experienced many times before with Derek and Mark, but this time it felt different. Urgent. Burning. She needed to taste his lips, feel his hands on her body, to give him everything. She found herself staring and fantasising about him constantly. His cute little smile. The way he scowled at people to hide his deep insecurities, a defence mechanism she had used many times herself. His low, gravelly voice that was enough to make her weak at the knees. She wanted him.
Alex caught flashes of her scarlet mane everywhere he turned. It glowed, like the embers in his heart that were growing for her. Since their near-kiss he couldn't stop himself picturing her soft lips, wondering what they would feel like pressed up against his own. He was infatuated with Addison, her scent, her body, her voice, all tied up together in a knot in his stomach that he was desperate to unravel. He had never felt this way about a woman before – usually he would just pick up any chick at a bar that was willing to go at it in his apartment, feelings free. This time it meant more to him. He wanted to care for Addison, to love her and kiss her like she had never been kissed before.
That night Addison found herself drowning her liver at Joe's, martinis her weapon of choice. With every drink that she downed, she pretended that the warm burn travelling down her body was not caused by the alcohol, but by the skilled hands of a certain intern. She was going crazy waiting for his touch, satisfaction a distant memory. Every fibre of her being seemed charged, on end with growing tension. Hearing the bell above the door signalling the entrance of another lonely soul, she turned and felt a shudder run through her body. Alex.
Addison. She was sat alone at the bar, a stack of empty martini glasses clustered around her, and he knew she must be extremely drunk. A silky pink blouse and black pencil skirt clung tightly to her beautiful figure, adding another image to Alex's mind that he was sure he would happily fantasise about in the future. Her hair hung loosely around her shoulders, the ends slightly curled in the way that he thought was so sexy. Unable to resist the temptation, Alex walked over and sat on the bar stool next to her.
Addison looked at him with lust-filled eyes, painfully aware that her heart was beating so hard it could burst out of her chest at any minute.
'Hey' she managed to mumble, breathing heavily, edging closer towards him. Alex smiled at the gorgeous woman and gently reached up to cup her face. He stroked her fragile cheek with his thumb and felt a heat rise through his body. This was it.
Intoxicated with his scent, Addison leaned in and made the connection. Their lips grazed softly at first, then Addison deepened the kiss, hungry. His tongue tasted sweet, and the friction of his rough stubble rubbing against her soft skin sent electricity rushing through her veins.
Their mouths moved in harmony, a beautiful rhythm unfolding. The cool air contrasted starkly to their hot breath, and Alex felt his body throbbing as he ran his hands wildly through Addison's hair.
Goosebumps scattered over her entire body; fireworks exploded in her chest.
Pulling away from each other and gasping for breath, they both grinned in unison.
'Want to come back to my place?' Alex asked, smirking at her.
'Definitely' Addison rasped, grabbing hold of his hand. This would be a night to remember.
