Run…
Feet clomped onto the park grass and the human ran as fast as she could, screeching for someone to save her from her plight.
Stupid, pathetic human.
The figure in the shadows watched silently, waiting, for the girl to screw up. Then, the prey tripped on a lump in the earth's surface, and came crashing down, all while small rocks scraped her hands.
Did you think you could outrun me?
"Help me!" The poor girl screamed in agony to the dark, void nothingness that sealed her fate. The girl sobbed obnoxiously, the creature stealthily made it's way over to its target.
A faint crunch of the grass under an unknown force was heard in between the loud thump of her heartbeat.
"Hello?" She called out," Is anyone there? Please, help me!"
The creature launched itself at the girl, making sure its massive paw covered the girl's mouth; snuffing out a small shriek that had started to come out. The girl tried to struggle by thrashing her legs at the monster; this did not deter the beast.
Insolent being.
The monster raked a claw down the front of her torso, blood oozing out of the major lacerations to her body. Her pupils shrank, as muffled shrieks managed to make their way past the creatures paw. Her back arched and writhed under the monster's mass.
It barred it teeth in some sort of a twisted grin, as the girl's breathing finally stopped. Her heart gave out with one final beat, and it thrust its massive maw into the woman's abdomen. It ripped out her intestines, throwing them into the air before devouring them whole.
After a few moments the monster had finally hollowed out the girl's body, and a beam of light came towards the hunt and its kill. The creature licked its chops before taking off into the foreboding shadows, as the light drew near.
"Ugh, I hate this shift," The patrolman grumbled out to no one in particular." It's spooky as hell out here!"
There was a shape in the darkness that was picked up by his measly flashlight.
"Hey! Kid! It's past 1! Get your ass back to bed before I call the cops for loitering!" He shouted at it, assuming it was a stupid kid who crashed there, oh how wrong he was. In any case, the shape didn't make a movement whatsoever. The man began to stomp his way over, but then his trusty flashlight picked up a major detail.
The grass had been stained in a dark substance; there was no way that alcohol was the culprit. Then a breeze came from the north, bringing the familiar stench of iron with it.
"Kid?" he called out. No response. The patrolman rushed towards the shape, shining his flashlight on it. He screamed.
The monster let out a deep chuckle, as the human took off like a headless chicken, screaming bloody murder.
Yes, run human… I'll be back soon enough to claim you to.
A/N: I didn't like how this turned out to be honest, too short. And besides I should have done more with the gore, would have been better. This was brought up, mostly because I was reading a collection of H.P. Lovecraft's works… I like the Dunwich Horror the Best. :)
