The Final Dream

It's been two years since Sin was defeated and the Faith stopped dreaming. Yet Ella still lives when it was Tidus, her older brother, who had someone to live for. But when war starts up again, Ella may finally find a reson to keep living all while remembering why she died over 1,000 years ago.

So, this little baby has been in my head for... 6 years? This was actually the first fanfic I ever thought up. I never wrote it down though. But recently I've been looking up X-2 vidsand this bunny was awoke with vengeance! I'm still gonna write Frozen Reflection, no worries! But I'll also write The Final Dream as well. Originally, this story spanned over X and X-2, but I don't change enough in the X storyline for it to be worth writing, so there's gonna be flashback. A LOT of them. Fair warning. I'll put up the first chapter tomorrow. For now, enjoy this little preview. It starts out at the end of X.

Prologue: Wishing Does Nothing

I stared out into the bay. Yuna was giving her speech to the people of Spira. I knew I should have been there. I WAS one of her Guardians, after all. But not this time. Not now. I looked down at my hands.

"Why did you disappear while I stayed here?" I whispered bitterly, tears fogging up my vision. A gentle hand rested on my shoulder. I looked up into Crystal's face; white, flawless, sharp and beautiful.

"It will be alright." she said, her voice soft, despite her ice appearance. And standing at 6 foot didn't help either. I nodded as she transformed into her Aeon form. I climbed onto her back and flew away. I never want to see anyone again. I want to forget everything.

Sad, bright green eyes watched the ice-white and pale blue bird fly away into the distance.

"Ella!" Rikku exclaimed, running after me. She grabbed my arm, stopping me temporarily. "You can't just leave after being MIA for two whole years! I was looking everywhere for you! I thought..." she trailed off, knowing that Yuna and the black-haired girl were listening in.

"Rikku." I said, turning to her. "I don't want to think about it. I don't want to remember. All I want to do is sing until I die." Rikku bit her bottom lip, her bright green eyes pleading.

"Ella, what's happened to you? You used to be so lively-"

"That all died when my brother disappeared back into the Farplane."
