"Ok people, which two do we want to hear from next?" The announcer yelled over the microphone.

James and Lily could not believe that their friends had dragged them to this stupid karaoke night, in the Great Hall. What happened next made them even more mad at them.

"JAMES!" yelled Remus, Sirius and Peter.

The entire hall burst into applause; Lily turned away and went to walk back to friends, but before she could take a single step, James caught her and pulled her back,

"Lily," He said, "Do you understand how I feel, now?"

"James, I..."

He cut her off, he pulled her chin up and leaned down and kissed her, only lightly. He pulled back and looked at her; she threw her arms around James and kissed him full on the mouth.

They had both forgotten though that they were still standing where everyone could see them; they heard a small clapping and cheering, it grew louder until finally everyone in the room was applauding James on finally getting his girl.
