She punched him, square in the nose leaving a nasty crack instantly after. Dean's hand when to his nose. He could feel the blood coming. He could feel it on his hand. He grunted, stepping back to regain his balance. He peered through his fingers to see the woman headed straight for him. She took another swing, missing as Dean hopped out of the way. The woman stumbled, but found her center of gravity again.
Dean quickly when for the holy water, splashing her immediately. The woman screamed in agony, covering her face. Stream sizzled on his skin, but only for a moment. The pain wore away and she was back in the game. Dean douced her with more, and she repeated the pain again. Dean threw away the empty flask then kicked her in the stomach.
The woman fell back onto the rug. She looked at Dean with evil demon eyes then got to her feet. She charged at Dean, but was resisted. The invisible force of the devil's trap below the rug bound her to the circle. She glared at Dean momentarily, but then grinned for some reason.
Confused, Dean grabbed his dad's journal off the floor, never taking his eyes off the woman.
"I wouldn't be smiling if I were you," Dean spat. "You're going back to where you came from."
The demon continued to smirk as Dean began the exercise. He didn't get very far, however. There was something about her that gripped his attention. Usually when he threatend a demon, they'd be twitching with fear. But not this one.
"Something amusing you?" Dean growled as he set down the book to stare.
Dean couldn't shake the feeling like they've met somewhere before.
"It's just good to be back." The demon replied.
Dean looked at her up and down, then brought the book back up to where he could read it. He continued on with the exercise. He sped through the latin like it was english. But he stopped again. He looked directly into the demons eyes. Why the hell was she still grinning?
"What do you mean it's good to be back?" Dean's interest peaked.
The demon never dropped the smile. "You don't remember me?"
Oh, so now it was someone he knows... or knew. He went through all the female demons he'd ever come across, thinking they've crawled out of the pit and come back to kick his ass.
Dean took a silent deep breath, looking down his nose at the demon, deciphering who it could be.
Meg? Ruby? Casey?
Then it hit Dean.
No. It couldn't be.
"Bela." He muttered quietly.
The demon smiled wider. "It appears we're both out now. Lucky us."
Out of shock, Dean slowly dropped the book. He had forgotton all about Bela, for about two years now. He had nothing to say, he didn't know what to say.
"It's good to see you again, Dean."
And with that, black smoke shot out of the woman's mouth to the ceiling, and out the window. The body dropped dead to the floor, leaving Dean alone with the last words he ever said to her.
I'll see you in hell.
