Mello awakes to Matt sleeping, half on half off the bed, Grand Theft Auto paused. Apparently Matt's been shooting down prostitutes again; even after the police told him he'd get put in jail if he pulled a gun on one again. Mello shakes his head. He wants a better last memory of Matt that that disastrous night out.
Mello sits and thinks for a while. At least, he thinks it's a while, but when he looks at the alarm clock he realises it's been almost two hours. The controller twitches in Matt's hand, and begins to vibrate as the game restarts.
"What the…?" Matt jerks awake. Mello takes his rucksack and leaves before his best friend can see him. The last time Matt sees Mello is a flash of black cotton and a glimpse of gleaming yellow hair going out of the door.
