Chapter 1

Hollykit ran out of the Nursery making sure no one saw her. She snuck out of the camp and ran down the ravine towards the hunting grounds. Hollykit spots a mouse eating a small seed. Hollykit goes into a hunter position she saw one of the apprentices practice one day. Hollykit pounced at the mouse and killed it.

"Wow, I did it!" Hollykit squealed. " Wait until daddy sees!"

" Hollykit!" BrightStar hissed. " I thought I told you you cant leave the camp yet!"

" But daddy, I wanted to-" BrightStar cuts her off.

" Lets head back to camp, give the mouse to one of the elders. Give it to Darkfeather." BrightStar meowed. " You need to force him to eat Hollykit."

Hollykit and BrightStar headed down the ravine towards the camp. BrightStar smiled at Hollykit a few times and then. Finally they reached the camp and Hollykit headed towards the elders den. She wondered who Darkfeather is. One of the elders looked up.

"What do you need?" The elder asked.

"I need Darkfeather, I caught him a mouse." Hollykit meowed.

" Hes over there." the elder answered.

Hollykit heads over to the big dark elder and gave him a nudge on the back. The dark elder looked up at Hollykit.

" What do you want?" the elder asked.

" Oh, well I caught a mouse for you." Hollykit answered.

" I don't want it." the tom turns away.

" Come on, you have to eat!" Hollykit pleaded.

The tom elder looks away then looks back at Hollykit. He then stares of in the distance.

"Do you want to hear a story?" the elder asked. He starts the story without her decision. " It happened 4 moons ago." The tom went on. "Are you familiar with the rule saying cats from separate clans cannot fall in love?" the elder asked.

"No,why?" Hollykit asked.

" I was in a forbidden relationship with a cat from another clan." The tom answered. " I loved her so much." he said sadly.

"What happened?" Hollykit asked.

" eventually you would get in a battle between a clan and yours. I was forced to kill her." The tom said sadly.

" But why?"Hollykit Cried.

" that is why two cats from separate clans cant fall in love, you'll eventually meet in a battle, no questions asked." the elder meowed. Hollykit went back to the nursery excited knowing she'll be an apprentice in four moons.
