"Hey Ron Yuma, want go on a date tomorrow?" Arden Alcott yelled to the three boys running to the finish line.
Ron suddenly stopped causing Ben and Rain to topple over him.
Yes, a diversion! We can win this thing! Sadie thought as she began running.
As she ran passed the dog-piled boys, her eyes latched onto Ben's for a split-second.
He is so not going to win this, Sadie thought as she continued running.
Ben quickly got up and began running after her. This is it, he thought, now is my chance.
He was now only a few feet behind Sadie. In back of him were Rain, Ron, Margaret, and Arden cheering him and Sadie on. In front of him he only saw one thing.
Ben then realized that all the things he had been telling Ron and Rain were just things he was telling himself. Now he spotted his chance and he took it.
Being almost directly behind Sadie, Ben reached out and grabbed her hand. She spun around almost falling, but was caught by Ben's arm coming around her waist. Quickly before thinking anymore, Ben kissed her.
At first Sadie didn't realize what was happening, but then kissed him back.
The two pulled away and just looked at each other with a smile.
Oh yeah, Ben thought, this was definitely my chance.
