I've noticed there's very few Ace Attorney fanfics about Regina, and absolutely ZERO about Regina and Bat, I've decided to change that.

April 3rd 2020, Regina Berry entered the hospital to visit her closest friend, Sean Dingling, otherwise known as Bat. Regina felt guilt every time she was beside Bat's hospital bed, it was her fault he was like this, she didn't mean for it to happen.
Regina entered Bat's hospital room and saw him laying on the bed, he was still the same as before, motionless on the bed with the only sound being the beeping coming from the monitor. Regina sat in the chair next to Bat's bed, she remained silent for a few moments before she started speaking.
"Hey Bat, it's me again, I still don't know if you can hear me, but I hope you can, the circus is doing well, Benjamin and Trilo still argue all the time, but that's just what they do, Moe's jokes have gotten alot better and Max is working on some new magic tricks" said Regina
Regina saw that there was no response from Bat. She remained silent for a while. She noticed something next to the bed, it was a photo album, Regina looked through it to see it was full of all the fun times she and Bat had together. Regina smiled at the memories. Regina stopped reading when she heard something next to her, it sounded like a sigh or a groan. She looked towards Bat and saw him slowly opening his eyes.
"Bat?" asked Regina
Bat looked towards Regina
"Regina?" asked Bat
Regina smiled and hugged Bat.
"Bat, you're alright" said Regina
"What happened? Where am I?" asked Bat
Regina released the hug, her smile disappeared.
"You're in the hospital, you've been in a coma for over 3 years" said Regina
"What? How?" asked Bat
Regina started to explain what happened with the lion.
"It was an accident Bat, I'm really sorry" said Regina
Bat took hold of Regina's gloved hand.
"It's okay Regina, I forgive you, accidents happen, in truth, it was stupid of me to stick my head in a lion's mouth, by the way, what happened to Leon?" asked Bat
"My dad had Leon put down" said Regina
"Oh, I'm sorry Regina, I know how close you and Leon were, how is your father?" asked Bat
Regina hung her head.
"He's gone" said Regina
"Oh, Regina, I'm so sorry, I didn't know" said Bat
"It's okay" said Regina
Regina noticed the time, visiting hours were over.
"I've gotta go, I'll see you tomorrow" said Regina
"Alright" said Bat
Regina left the hospital to return to the circus.
