Keep in mind I do not own any of the characters mentioned below. By the way, thanks to everyone who helped me with this, and I hope you like it. Read & Review when you're done. :) NOTE: This is all Rachel's POV.

I sat in the courtroom, as Dr. Jonathan Crane stammered into a microphone. I didn't really like Dr. Crane. With each of his passing words I came to dislike him even more. I twisted the handkerchief in my hands. "In my opinion, Mr. Zsaz is as much a danger to himself as to others, and prison is probably not the best environment for his rehabilitation." I looked over at Victor Zsaz, who sat in an orange jumpsuit, next to his lawyer. My handkerchief was beginning to tear. Damn.

Afterwards, I caught up with Crane. "Dr. Crane?" I called after him, as he walked through the courtroom doors. "Ah, Miss Dawes." He didn't seem pleased. "You really think that a man who butchers people for the mob doesn't belong in jail?" He stared at me coldly. "Well I hardly would have testified to that otherwise would I Miss Dawes?" "This is the third of Carmine Falcone's thugs you've declared insane and moved into your asylum." "The work offered by organized crime must have an attraction to the insane." He turned to walk away. "Or the corrupt." I said stiffly. Crane didn't turn to me, but looked over at Carl. "Mr. Finch!" Carl looked over our way. "I think you should check with Miss Dawes here, just what implication your office has offered her to make.. If any." With that, Crane stalked off. I was really beginning to dislike that man.

"What are you doing Rachel?" Carl said, taking me aside. "What are you doing Carl?" "Looking out for you." He said, laying a hand on my shoulder. "Falcone has half the city bought and paid for. Drop it." Like I didn't know that. "How can you say that?" I asked, unbelieving. "Because as much as I acre about getting Falcone, I care more about you." I was touched. But, I didn't want to lead him on. "That's sweet." I said honestly. I gently took his hand off my shoulder. "But we've been through all that." I walked off, wondering if I'd done the right thing.
