Year Long Scavenger Hunt: D31. Write about technology being introduced to Hogwarts in some way
Hermione knew she was making history. For the first time, technology was going to be at Hogwarts. She felt as if she was being tickled by a feather she was so happy.
Her fingers went to the chain around her neck, a present given to her by a friend that had been killed during the war. This friend had been Muggle-born like her and had taken a stance on certain issues. While Hermione had been about House-elf rights, this friend had wanted to battle against how out of date Hogwarts was.
He had spoken so passionately about wishing there was technology at the school. He had wanted it so badly for his second home, but he never had any hope of it happening. He was sure the Pure-bloods and everyone who ran the school would make sure it never happened because they didn't like copying Muggles. After all, witches and wizards still used quills instead of pens or pencils.
When he died, Hermione had decided to put her desires on hold and pursue his dream in his honor and name.
It was called the Finch-Fletchley Act.
Starting on Monday, there would be computers made available in the common rooms. These computers were meant to be used for homework, but if one wanted to use it for personal pleasure, they needed to make a note of it on the signup sheet.
Of course, many of the Pure-bloods rebelled against the very idea of using technology, but the majority of the students were happy with the change.
People were talking about making websites that could only be accessed by witches and wizards. Hermione knew there might be a way to do it, but so far, she hadn't discovered it. Maybe password protected?
She shook her head. That could be figured out at a later time. Hermione stared down at the chain the rested just over her heart.
She wished Justin was alive to see the beginning of change. Maybe he was watching from up above. Hermione hoped so.
