THE JUNGLE PART OF THE ZOO
99 degrees. That's what the thermometer said. I was shocked; I mean I'm used to the heat but I thought it was impossible for it to be this hot in Forks.
I don't think anyone was prepared for this heat; for starters Charlie didn't even have an air conditioner. I sat in our boiling house sweating to death waiting for Edward to come back from his hunting trip, so he could bring me to the Cullen's were he could act as my own walking, talking air conditioner.
I really didn't want him to rush, but secretly I really did. I flipped on the weather channel to see that it was only going to get hotter as the week progressed. I was absolutely disgusted at the thought that it would only get hotter, but then I thought that it would only give me more of an excuse to go to Edward's. It's a win- win I told myself I got to spend time with my Edward and get cool.
I found myself wondering how Jacob was faring in this heat. Was it something he thrived on? Or would he be panting like a dog or in this case a wolf.
After an hour it started getting more and more humid like when you go to the jungle part of the zoo, and it's really hot and sticky.
I fell asleep, and when I woke up I found myself in Edward's cool arms. "Bella" he whispered softly in my ear. "Hey" I said relieved to see he finally showed up. "How did the hunting go?" "Just fine got a few mountain lions." "How do you feel?" he asked pressing his lips to my forehead. "Just fine" i said nuzzling into the crook of his arm.
"How long have you been here?" I asked I could still here the sleep in my voice. "Not long, besides I enjoy watching you sleep." he said as he brushed a loose strand of hair out of my face.
I fell asleep again as i watched the thermometer rise thinking how nice it was to have my own personal air conditioner.
