unrequited hurts the most
He'd done everything for him. He'd left behind his life, following the man, following love. Everyday was bliss, a never-ending dream come true.
He didn't mind if his love wasn't reciprocated, he knew the man would never love him.
But then he saw how he looked at her. He saw the flame alive in his eyes, his captivated stare. His usual cool, collected self would transform into a nervous man trying to get her attention.
Of course she'd have that effect on him. She was stunning, the embodiment of beauty and elegance. With a smile she'd melt any man's heart, she was capable of making her own decisions, she was fair and courageous. She was graciousness itself.
And he was just a little boy, in no way able to compete with her. At the most both would smile at him whenever he tried to catch their attention. And he felt... jealous. He felt left behind, left with nothing but a handful of shattered dreams and a broken heart.
Then, he knew he'd never be loved. And it hurt.
