"Can we...?" Connor asked, motioning towards the stairs as he looked at Jude over top of Stef and Lena's heads.

Jude nodded.

"Moms, can we...?" Jude asked as he hugged them one more time.

"Of course, sweetie." Stef said, smiling. "Door open though." She winked.

"I really am sorry, mama," Jude made sure he said to Lena before he stepped passed her and reached for Connor's hand.

"I know, baby. All is forgiven." Lena said and Jude smiled.

Jude found himself being pulled up the stairs and into his room at a rather alarming speed.

"Connor, what's-" Jude started.

"You didn't answer my texts." Connor said, obviously irritated.

"I know and I'm sorry. I was just so frustrated and I didn't even think-"

"I was worried, Jude. I-I didn't know if something had happened to you or why you'd just suddenly taken off like you did and then I went and found your mom after class was over and she said you'd just ran out and that you weren't answering her texts either and, and I was really scared." Connor paced back and forth in front of Jude, who had opted to sit on his bed.

"Connor, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to worry anybody. I wasn't thinking. I silenced my phone so I couldn't hear moms calls but I didn't even think to, to let you know where I was or why I'd left." Jude dropped his gaze to the floor, suddenly ashamed of himself and his actions.

"Why'd you leave? Did I do something wrong?"

"What? Connor! No!" Jude grasped Connor's hand and pulled him down onto the bed beside of him. "I was mad because I thought moms fighting meant they were getting divorced and I didn't know what that meant for me. I mean, they have to keep me now because of the adoption, right? But if they aren't together anymore where am I going to go? I don't want to have to chose which mom I live with."

"At least you'd get a choice. My mom just left me." Connor sighed.

"Oh, Connor, I'm sorry." Jude squeezed his boyfriends hand tightly in his.

"Its fine. Now, I mean. Yeah, it hurt really bad then but I've gotten used to the fact that my mom doesn't care about me enough to even fight for me. But you have two moms that love you a whole lot and you should know they'd fight for you however they had to. They already have, with the adoption. They fought until you were theirs."

"Yeah." Jude smiled. "They did, didn't they?"

"Promise me something?" Connor asked.

"What?"

"Next time you get the urge to run away for the day, take me with you?"

Jude laughed.

"Yeah, Connor. Next time I feel like running away, I promise to take you with me."

"Thanks." Connor said, smiling as he leaned in to place a soft kiss on Jude's lips.
