"Habby Bir-day!" Jack yelled as he proudly held out his haphazardly wrapped gift. "I wapped it all by myself!"
"I can tell," she laughed. "Thank you, Jack." Janet smiled as she set down the file she'd been working on and accepted the oddly wrapped gift. "How did you know today was my birthday?" she asked the twenty-seven month-old.
"Sam tolded me yeserday," the boy replied with the cutest little grin Janet had ever seen.
"I'll tell you what, I'll open it at the party. Okay?"
The boy nodded. Obviously surprised, he bounced from foot to foot pointing at Janet as he declared, "Dat's 'upposed to be secret! How you knowed?"
Janet simply smiled, "I have my ways, Jack." Tucking the gift under her arm and holding out her hand she asked, "What do you say we go crash it?"
The pint-sized colonel's eyes lit up at the suggestion. Accepting the outstretched hand, he replied, "Yeah!"
