Dear Jem,
How are you? I hope you and Mary are doing fine. Is Mary getting along well with the baby on the way? Dill and I have only been married for a few months, but we're already thinking of children. We haven't fully discussed it yet.
Atticus turns 63 in a few days. He meant to call you yesterday, but came down with the flu. Calpurnia is helping out as much as she can, but I told her that with her arthritis, she should take it easy.
Dill's aunt Rachel comes over frequently to have tea with me and Cal. Unfortunately, Miss Maudie has had to stop coming over because just the walk across to the house takes a toll on her. We've decided to move tea to her house instead.
Every once in a while I see Helen Robinson's children. They're not much younger than me. Thankfully, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the Ewell's since the incident on Halloween.
Dill has a job with the newspaper. He writes his own section in the paper every week and earns a good 5 dollars per insert he writes.
How is life in New York City? Maybe Dill and I should come see you and Mary sometime soon. Christmas and Easter just never come around enough.
I constantly think about those games we played as children. (Even if some of them were mean.) Oh, we had so much fun! I still haven't seen Boo Radley come out of his house since that night. I bet you still wish you were awake for that! Ha!
Anyway, I must go help Calpurnia make dinner. Again, hope you and Mary are doing well.
Hope to see you soon!
Love, Scout and Dill
