Drabble #9: Weakness
Summary: He had many weaknesses but Aeris was the worst of them.

Cloud Strife knew he was not perfect. Sure, he had made first Class Soldier and kept his promise to Tifa but he had done many stupid things in his lifetime. He also had many weaknesses.
For example, there was the rather simple weakness of chocolate. Whenever Cloud smelt chocolate, he would be in the room like a bullet and be trying to find out where it was being kept. He could miss a bomb going off if he had a plate of chocolate on his lap.
His second weakness that he could think of, would be the fact that sometimes, he would have to be right all the time and would do anything to prove that point. He could be very stubborn sometimes. For example, when he was working for Barret at the start of Avalanche, he would go directly against orders if he didn't agree with them, just to prove that his theory was correct over Barret's. It drove Tifa nuts every night when the two men entered the bar, arguing, and yelling at each other. One time, Marlene had to be taken out of the room because she was so frightened.
That was another weakness. His anger. It was fair to say that it took a lot to make him angry but when he did finally snap, you did not want to be in the same room as him. Cloud would take forever to calm down and if anyone tried to socialise with him while in one of his moods, they were sure to get their heads bitten off.
However, his greatest weakness in his opinion was a woman called Aeris Gainsborough. Aeris was the image of perfection, with soft porcelain skin, thick, honey-coloured hair that framed her delicate, heart shaped shape and sparkling green eyes. She had managed to get under Cloud's skin and into his heart and even he didn't know completely how she managed it. It scared him a little, the fact that he had let someone so close to him but he reckoned with Aeris, he would be okay.
But as he stated before, she was his biggest weakness. She was worse than chocolate for he forget all about the sweet whenever she spoke to him or looked at him with her shining emerald gaze. She would cause him to argue with her about her safety, begging her to go home because he could not bear the thought of losing her. The thought of anyone hurting her or using her made him angrier than anything else in the world, even angrier than Sephiroth could make him feel.
Aeris Gainsborough was his biggest weakness but Cloud knew, he wouldn't have it any other way.
